Water supply disruption in Kandy for 36 hours

Colombo, May 28 (Daily Mirror) - A 36-hour water cut will come into effect in several parts of Kandy starting at 2:00 p.m. today (28).

According to the Kandy Municipal Council, the water supply interruption will continue until 2:00 a.m. on Friday (May 30), affecting both residential and commercial areas.

The water cut is being carried out due to damage to a main water supply line caused by construction activities related to the Kandy Multimodal Transport Terminal Development Project.

The affected areas include Peradeniya Road, William Gopallawa Mawatha, the stretch from the Kandy Court Complex to the Municipal Council junction, Asgiriya, Kandy Lake Round, Rajapihilla Mawatha, Buwelikada, Tennekumbura, Gurudeniya, Ampitiya, and all roads within the Kandy city limits.
