Viruliya Sevana, an association of officers and other ranks who are retired from the armed forces of Sri Lanka, has organized a blessing ceremony tomorrow (8) in line with the International Women's Day 2025.
The spiritual ceremony wishing people of the world to be free from the three unwholesome roots and live peaceful lives is scheduled to commence at 9.00am at the Heenatikumbura Purana Viharaya in Koswatta, Thalangama.
Dr. Priyantha Navaratne will deliver a speech on the topic Duties for the future generation in accordance with the motto ‘Yahaguna Dam Vaduma Uthum’.
Children of the committee members will also symbolically represent themselves in this ceremony in order to illustrate the example of their mothers, who were once the brave soldiers of the motherland.
Vice-President Viruliya Sevana Mrs. Rohini Imaduwa said that a counseling service for Viruliya children will be launched on this day by Lt. Colonel Kumudini Amarasinghe Mutalif. Patron Viruliya Sevana cum Chairperson Ramya Holdings Mrs. Ramya Weerakoon is also expected to grace the event.
In addition, the short film ‘Apasu Haren’, a presentation by Viruliya Sevana is also planned to be screened.
