Veteran journalist Lakshman Jayawardene passes away

Veteran journalist Lakshman Jayawardene who has been involved with the media for  a long period passed away today.

Having stepped into the media fraternity in 1965, he was once the Chairman of Lake House.

He also engaged in the diplomatic service and was the advisor to the Sri Lankan embassies in India and Canada.

Late Jayawardene has also published several books on the Sri Lankan diplomatic services.

His remains lie at his residence in Maharagama from Thursday and the last rights will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
