Colombo, April 23 (Daily Mirror) - People who enjoy watching the night sky will have a special sight to look forward to this week. In the early morning hours of April 25, 2025, Venus, Saturn and the Moon will appear close together in the sky, creating a beautiful conjunction that can be seen with the naked eye.
This special event will occur in the constellation Pisces. The Moon will be in its waning crescent phase, shining brightly at a magnitude of -7.84. Venus, also known as the ‘morning star,’ will shine at -4.77, while Saturn will appear at 1.17.
At their closest point, Venus and the Moon will be about four degrees apart, and Saturn and the Moon will be about two degrees apart. You won’t need a telescope to see them, but it’s best to watch from a place with clear skies and minimal light pollution.
In Sri Lanka, people can start watching this rare event from 4:00 a.m. and it will be visible until sunrise.
Astronomers suggest going to open areas away from city lights for the best view. This is a great opportunity to see three bright objects in the sky close to each other before dawn.
