Colombo, March 29 (Daily Mirror) - Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera who was sentenced to four years of rigorous imprisonment, has been admitted to the Prison Hospital, Prisons Spokesman Gamini Dissanayake said.
The Colombo High Court Judge Aditya Patabendige handed down the sentence on Thursday (March 28), following Ven. Gnanasara Thera's defamatory comments against Islam made in late 2016.
It was reported that Ven. Gnanasara Thera had been undergoing medical treatment prior to his sentencing and hence was referred to the Prison Hospital for treatment.

Prison hospital is well known for bribers and other tricksters to get the easy life, compared to in main prison. He may have even started the supposed treatment as a ruse for when he got to prison. He should be kept in jail for 40 years, he is a great trouble to the society, and inciting much hatred.

All the high profile convicts/suspects fall sick moment they are inside the Prison walls. When outside they eat drink dance and do everything. They are reminded of the sicknesses or medication when they go in. This is a psychological issue that must be addressed before they leave prison

Instead of jail terms, the Court should give a verdict asking to admit to the Prison Hospital - in all these cases where influential people are involved, who are linked to the politicians and corruptions. They all spend comfortable life at the hospitals - only exception was Sarath Fonseka.

First, get rid of the QUACK DOCTORS who are in the Prison Hospital and who RECOMMEND these hopitalizations. Either they take BRIBES or NOT real Doctors at all. There has to be an independent MEDICAL BODY to monitor these hospitalizations. This is becoming a JOKE and a cruel joke at that.

OK, I have a suggestion, they should build a high security, reasonably livable prison for VIP criminals but they should pay cost plus 200% margin to stay in that prison.This way both parties benefit. The objective should be to recover as much money from these crooks and from their supporters.
