Colombo, May 1 (Daily Mirror) - At least two people were killed and 40 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses at Minihirigama in Minneriya, along the Habarana–Polonnaruwa main road.

Police said the buses were operating on the Colombo–Kaduruwela route at the time of the accident.

The injured have been admitted to the Polonnaruwa and Hingurakgoda Hospitals.

A driver and another passenger succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the hospital.

Gold plated Pachanayake who is also Transport minister should resign for failure to prevent these bus accidents. His ganga addicted drivers are killing people everywhere every day. The Gold Plated Pachanayake only knows to talk about previous governments faults half of which are blatant invented lies.

Pls stop use these "lorry buses" for passenger transport. they do not have even basic safety features for passenger transport. The cost of medical expenses from tax payers money can replace these "lorry buses" by proper buses.
