Update: Dushmantha Chameera ruled out of T20 WC

Sri Lanka fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has been ruled out of the rest of the T20 World Cup. The pacer has been run down by yet another calf injury.

Chameera had also missed the 2022 Asia Cup because of a calf injury, but was included in their World Cup squad after he was passed fit.

The 30-year-old played a key role in Sri Lanka's thumping 79-run win over the UAE in Geelong by taking the first three wickets to fall in the innings and ended up with figures of 3 for 15. However, he sustained the injury during the last over of his spell and was seen shaking his head as he hobbled off the field.

Sri Lanka also have fitness issues surrounding batter Danushka Gunathilaka and pace bowler Pramod Madushan, with both of them laid low by hamstring problems. It puts the side in a difficult position, having lost the opening game of the tournament to Namibia; they are currently placed third in their group with only two points.

Already Srilanka has been deprived of the service of the faster bowler Dusmantha Chameera. However we cannot believe whether there is a possibility to fill that gap with quick bowler Lahiru Kumara who can bowl exceeding 140km. Thus he didnt play even one game for last six months. Whatsoever Srilankan management should take a precise decision in order to remain in the competition

This will have a serious effect on bankrupt Sri Lanka's economy. Please we have more important things to worry and not a dude being ruled out.

The subject players are unfit, it can't be that they're over doing it in the gym!! Am sure that's not the Case!! Main reason being the diet yeah the food that they consume on daily basis!!
