Update: 846 officers & 11,471 other ranks of Army, SLAF promoted on Victory Day

A total of 396 Officers and 8,110 other ranks of the Army have been promoted to their respective next rank by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in view of the 13th National War Heroes Commemoration Day (18 May).

The Army said the promotions were made on the recommendation of the Ministry of Defence and Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva.

Meanwhile, 450 officers and 3,361 other ranks of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) were also promoted to their next rank on Victory Day under the instructions of Commander of the Air Force Sudarshana Pathirana.(DSB)

Oh Great. In February now in may. Let's print more rupees. Can we have a 10000 rupees note please? These guys and the support staff allocated have to be paid and they will find it difficult to Carry 1000 rupees notes.
