Upcountry train services restricted due to adverse weather

The Railway Department has announced restrictions on train services along the Upcountry Railway line as heavy rainfall continues to impact several areas of the country.

According to officials, falling trees, landslides, and rockfalls have been reported in multiple locations on the rail track above Nanu Oya, making train operations unsafe. In response, the department has decided to limit all trains running from Colombo to Badulla to operate only up to the Nanu Oya Railway Station.

The restrictions will be in effect from tomorrow (27) and will continue until further notice. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and stay updated on further announcements from the Railway Department.
