An agreement was signed between Public Administration Ministry and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to strengthen the socio-economic resilience of the people of Central and Uva Provinces those who affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project is expected to enhance drinking water facilities, sanitation facilities, personal safety, primary health care facilities, reduce post-harvest damage as well as increase food security and household income.
However, the KOICA has agreed to provide a grant of US$6 million for this project, which will be implemented from 2022 to 2025.
Accordingly, 72,400 families in Nuwara Eliya district and 19,350 families in Badulla district will benefit from this. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
