Colombo, March 12 (Daily Mirror) - Former MP and an organiser for the Kalutara District, Lakshman Wijemanne protested against MP Rajitha Senaratne's presence at the party headquarters Sirikotha during a ceremony held to handover appointment letters to new organisers.

However, party sources said the matter was settled by party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe who intervened and managed to calm things down.

Rajitha as the health minister provided yeomen service to the nation. He made sure no drug shortages, gave many things free of charge like cataract lenses for the needy, ear implants to the kids etc. Look at his successors. Can you say the same thing? One guy even ended up in jail. As for the UNP is concerned it may be dead but one cannot forget the projects like Mahaweli, Mahapola, free trade zones, housing projects (can you see a single mud and wattle house now?) and so on. In spite of some grave mistakes (like 1983) under the UNP this country moved forward. We wish we have such a capable bunch of leaders right now but we are an ungrateful nation. Now we have only Kayyanayakes and the hosanna singers praising them even before they could implement a single thing.

Wrong. The former organiser of the UNP Kalutara Luxman Wijemana protested was he was removed from the Kalutara Organiser post and it was given to Rajitha. The UNP is in total disarray and that is why Sajith did not want to join them as a team. Ranil showed his leadership style, the is dictatorial instinct. Not surprised we can not win an election.
