Colombo, May 7 (Daily Mirror) - The United National Party (UNP) is willing to engage in dialogue to determine ways and means to cooperate with other Opposition parties to form joint administrations in local bodies of which the Opposition enjoys a majority, party General Secretary Thalatha Athukorala said today.
“We are willing to engage in a dialogue with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and others to form administrations in local bodies of which the Opposition commands a majority," Ms. Athukorala told journalists.
“Our intention is to oust the ruling NPP out of power as they have deceived the people continuously,” she added.
“We were always ready to work with the SJB and both I and our Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene did hold a dialogue with them some time back. This process can be resumed now,” she also said.
