UNP decides to reinstate membership of those who joined SJB

The United National Party (UNP) working committee has decided to reinstate the membership of those who had joined the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) back in 2020.

The decision was made at the working committee which met with party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe in the chair.

A committee headed by Tilak Marapana has been appointed to study the legal implementation of the decision of the working committee, Party Chairman Wajira Abeywardena said.

UNP Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe is very late in handing over the leadership. After been the leader for 40 years when he has not groomed a younger leader to take over and he is now grappling with so many illnesses and a few court cases from what we see, its high time he focused on Succession Planning. Unfortunately his most trusted deputies are all known rogues. If the party wants to build up Ruwan W do so and hand over the leadership. RK, WA, SR are not worthy to take leadership due to their corrupt nature.
