UNP convention postponed

Colombo, Sept. 2 (Daily Mirror) - The United National Party (UNP) convention which was to be held on Saturday (September 6) has been postponed, UNP General Secretary Thalatha Athukorala said today.

Athukorala said the convention was postponed considering the health condition of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

"The convention however will be held on another date within this month," she added.

Actually the real reason is that you cannot get the other party leaders to attend due disunity. So saving face by selling your leaders health.

I think they must go to a jungle to have this convenstion with other animals - not with humans! UNP must increase its membership with Gonawila Ranil, Batalande Premadasa and Thumpane Wijeratna, Walankade Ravi etc.

No Use of holding a " CONVENTION" , when anout dated leadership of UNP still keeping the party leadership under his arms . One of the main reasons to fail as an one of the biggest Political parties in Sri Lanka to lower approval rating less than 2% in the last elections . This is one of the main points to re think when the UNP needs to be reorganised .Change the leadership from the out dated to new capable leadership ASAP . However looks like it won't be happening in UNP like JVP , from the 3 % approval rating reached to 69.89% after RE ORGANISINED as NPP with the Way forward

I think the issue is Ranil walked to the car at the hospital showing no sickness at all. Then he was up and about making statements. His conduct would have aroused the suspicion of the Prosecutors and the illness was fake. Now he is much likely to enter a Private Hospital for a few days to show that he is really not well. With 3 arteries blocked out of 4 the patient must be given necessary treatment before discharge and that did not happen.

Since UNP will accept Dayasiri as the Leader of the party you will have to invite Dayasiri and not Ranil anymore for any functions of your party.
