UNP, SJB alliance sans Sajith?

Colombo, Feb 24 (Daily Mirror) - It is likely that a large number of Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) MPs will form an alliance with the United National Party (UNP) leaving out SJB leader Sajith Premadasa, former MP Rajitha Senaratne said today.

"There are many SJBers who want to form an alliance with the UNP and they are likely to abandon SJB leader and join the alliance," Dr. Senaratne told the media.

"It looks like Premadasa is not interested in an alliance. It seems that he is not willing to bury hachets," Dr. Senaratne added.

In response to this, SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara said Premadasa has never wanted the dialogue with the UNP stopped.

"No one has asked us to stop the dialogue with the UNP, " he told the media

Sajith and Ranil both are same when it comes to politics. Both are arrogant individuals who cannot work in a coalition. Ranil failed to form a government at 2004 with jhu, failed to work together with MY3 and that government became a flop at the end, failed to work with slpp to form an alliance at last election. Then Sajith failed to identify his true potential at 2019 presidential election, if Champika or common candidate contested at that time instead of Sajith, that Swann alliance could have won.Then at last presidential election, if Sajith took a step back and allowed a common candidate like Nandal W, they could have won. So basically both are not team players and will not win any election in future.

All Of them, SJB and UNP same as SLPP and SLFP not going to be good for the general Public . Majority of VOTERS in the country very well understand this concept why they wanted to be in alliance to contest future elections . The recent VR research confirmed after their deep research the NPP government approval ratings are very high over 75 % , in all areas of the current government . Also SP knows, , if SJB decided to alliance with UNP , RW is going to try to outcasted him again like he did previously . Therefore SJB and UNP cluster is never going to be functioning and if they formed a coalition it will be the end of both political parties because majority will be totally reject them .

It was suspected from the beginning of the dialogue, that it as an attempt by Ranil to attract lizards in SJB , and destroy Sajith. People are not fools. They do not want people like Ranil, Rajitha in Politics altogether as they are opportnists and destroyers of Parties. Even Harsha, Ranjith Madduba Bandara are not a safe bet for Sajith , the way Maddumabandara self nominated himself to the National List. Unfortunately UNP is believed to have immense funds and Assets behind it and is under the control of Ranil. Not a ‘political, destructive opposition’ but a well meaning creative opposition to prevent NPP from excesses. Rajapaksas downfall came from their excesses and that should not happen again with another government. But are we confident of getting it as Ranjitha says. As we are aware, the UNP ruled the country for many years. It adopted avery pragmatic policies which enabled the country to develop and also was a party which looked into the grievances of all section of the population. However due to one man who wanted to remain the head of the party led to divisions within the party. Sajith led SJB. Unfortunately he too failed . In the interest of both UNP and SJB and the country both Ranil and Sajith must quit politics.
