Two youths killed in train tragedy in Dehiwala

Two youths aged 22 were killed and another one injured when they were knocked down by a train at the Dehiwala Railway Station today.

The deceased are a 22-year-old boy from Karandeniya and a 22-year-old girl from Ambalangoda.

A group of 12 students of Balapitiya Vocational Training Centre had travelled by train to visit the Dehiwala Zoo and the three youth met with the tragedy when they were crossing the railway line to take a bus. (H.M. Dharmapala)

Trains come at terrific speed. Due to the noise from the sea one cannot hear the approaching train. Crossing tracks should be made illegal except at demarcated places. RIP

What about the Overhead Walkway and Bridge!!!??? Sory that is only used by P____iya's!! Sorry!!! Not used by the emancipated and recently educated!!?? they use self- levitation, which unfortunately FAILED!!!??

It's is very sad to hear students travel without care. Hope that way close To stand must be closed ,instead everybody should use the correct upstairs terminal to go out.
