Two-week ’work from home’ for public servants from next week

A two-week period of work-from-home has been declared for public servants by the government from June 20, 2022.

The circular issued by the Public Administration Ministry Secretary said that the relevant ministry Secretary, department head or heads of the institution have been authorised to summon the minimum number of staff required to maintain public services without interruption.

As per the circular, even when minimum staff members are summoned for duty, it should be done on shift basis or on any other regular mechanism.

The circular also says that the Public servants should be ready to work online whenever they are not summoned to work in the office.

GMOA, please speak up of members who are suffering from shortage of petrol and station in far away hospitals, where a lot of unnecessary expenditures are incurred such as house rents,pay for maids to look after kids in this difficult time

Dear Sir, Most of the government services are not computerized and work with large books. How can they work from home and will they work from home as even in office they are sleeping .

These public services employees don’t work when they are in the office do you think they will work from home. Recently there was a Facebook post showing 3 state employees sleeping at their desk and another have a mid morning meal for over one hour while the public await for hours to get their work done.
