Two students remanded over misuse of AI to manipulate images of female classmates

Colombo, June 10 (Daily Mirror) - Two schoolboys have been remanded till June 13 for allegedly using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to manipulate images of four female classmates and sharing them via school WhatsApp groups.

The Horana Magistrate, Chandana Kalansuriya, issued the remand order yesterday and further directed that the suspects be placed in a juvenile detention facility managed by prison authorities.

The incident came to light after the father of one of the girls saw the altered images and filed a complaint with the police. The two students were then taken into custody and presented before the court.

The case involves students preparing for the upcoming G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination.

Teach the students how to respect and behave. It should start from home, they learn from how father treats / calls / respects mother. Proper sex education is also a must. Students should be taught about relationship too. In Sri Lanka, it is always the boys go behind the girls and force them to love.
