Two die in motorcar-tipper collision

At least two people were killed and another two injured in a head-on collision between a motorcar and a tipper truck at Welhengoda on the Galle-Matara Main Road this morning, Police said.

A two and half-year-old child is among the injured and were admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
The victims have been identified as a mother (58) and daughter (28) who are residents of Elekada, Agunukolapelessa.
The driver of the tipper truck was taken into custody. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)
