Two boys drown while playing in flooded quarry

Two boys aged 14 and 15 drowned when they were engaged in water sports in a flooded quarry at Korathota in Nawagamuwa yesterday.

Police said the two children died when a raft made of barrels overturned while they were attempting to water sports.

The children were admitted to the Oruwala Hospital by the local residents. However, the children died on admission to hospital.

Both children are students of 9th and 10th grade of Mahamathya Vidyalaya in Athurugiriya.
