Two Health officials transferred

Regional Director of Health Services, Galle Dr. K.H.Priyantha Jeevarathne and Regional Epidemiologist Dr. Venura Singarachchi have been transferred with immediate effect over the alleged incident where people from Colombo district had arrived in Galle to receive the second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine violating quarantine regulations.

State Minister Channa Jayasuma said Jeevarathne had been transferred to the Health Ministry while Singarachchi had been transferred to another department in the Southern Province.

“The officials have been transferred under the recommendations put forward by the officials attached to the Health Ministry, who carried out the preliminary investigation into the incident,” the State Minister said.

He added that disciplinary actions would be taken against the duo in due course.

If this news is true, all the heath offices in Sri Lanka need to be transferred. They were doing the same thing what was done in Galle.
