Training opportunities available to SL security personnel: Iran
The Defence Ministry said that Iran had apprised Sri Lanka about training opportunities that could be offered to Sri Lankan Police and Armed Forces personnel in Iran.
Iranian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mohammad Zaeri Amirani made this announcement at a discussion with Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne in his office, today.
Ambassador Amirani lauded the government’s commitment in handling the Police and the Armed Forces to maintain peace in the country.
He briefed the Defence Secretary on the present political situation in his country and informed him of the training opportunities that could be offered to Sri Lankan Police and Armed Forces personnel in Iran.
While thanking the Iranian Ambassador’s gesture of goodwill, Defence Secretary Gunaratne said that he was looking forward to further improve bilateral relations with Iran.
