Train engine collision; four injured

Four passengers had been injured when a locomotive engine collided with the train plying from Rambukkana to Colombo at Wilwatte Railway Station this evening, the Railway Control Unit said.

The injured had been admitted to the Mirigama Hospital.

The Sri Lanka railway signaling system is very primitive. The same are safety systems built in to the locomotives. This could be negligence. Result of the Rs.10,000 pay increase?
