Toll-free hotlines launched for women and children in distress

The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs has announced the launch of two toll-free telephone hotlines to report cases of women and children in distress amid the ongoing emergency situation.

According to the Ministry, information related to women can be reported via 1938, while issues concerning children can be reported through 1929.

Both services operate free of charge, 24 hours a day, and are available in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, ensuring accessible support for anyone seeking assistance.
