Colombo, April 12 (Daily Mirror) - The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather alert, warning of thundershowers and severe lightning expected to sweep across various parts of the island in the imminent hours.
Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are anticipated to strike multiple areas within the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Northern and North-Western Provinces, as well as the Moneragala district.
In light of the imminent weather conditions, members of the public are strongly advised to take proactive measures to mitigate potential damages caused by lightning activities.
The Department of Meteorology continues to monitor the situation closely and urges residents to stay updated on further advisories and alerts.
