Three injured in lorry-train collision

Colombo, September 1 (Daily Mirror) - Three persons were injured after a lorry collided with the express train bound to Kankesanthurai from Colombo at the Kurumankadu railway crossing on the Vavuniya-Mannar railway line this afternoon.

The injured are a father, mother and the daughter. They were admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital.

The railway gate had not been closed even though a gatekeeper has been assigned at the gate.

The gatekeeper has been arrested over the incident.
