Colombo, May 6 (Daily Mirror) - Former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa, Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Maithripala Sirisena did not cast their votes at today’s Local Government Election.

Daily Mirror correspondents who were on election duty in the respective distorts said that while reporters were awaiting the former leaders arrival, Sirisena, Gotabaya and Mahinda Rajapaksa did not arrive to cast their votes.

Excellent for not voting! Definitely Saved a few million rupees of taxpayers money for their travel in style and high security presence. Also, the inconveniences caused to the general public due to cordon of areas if these fellas voted. Their not voting won’t make a dent anyway to the polls.

I thought NPP will do the right. There's like close to 9000 local government members, then 455 PC members and 225 MP's. That's like 1 in every ,8000 Lankans there's a elected politician. Absurd, we should reduce the MP's to 100 and 15 ministers.get rid of PCs and LG's. That alone will save 500 billion rupees. No political leader want to do the right thing.
