Thieves break into Colombo DIG’s office auditorium

Colombo, Sept. 26 (Daily Mirror) - Thieves have reportedly broken into the auditorium on the sixth floor of the Colombo DIG’s office on Olcott Mawatha, Pettah, and stolen copper wiring from the electrical system.

Despite the building being under 24-hour police security and monitored by CCTV cameras, investigations revealed that the suspects had gained entry by breaking open a door.

It was reported that the stolen copper wires were part of the system supplying power to electrical equipment in the auditorium. The theft is believed to have taken place sometime between August 1 and September 24.

It has also been revealed that the auditorium had not been properly inspected during this period.

A complaint was lodged with the Colombo Central Division Criminal Investigation Bureau in this regard.
