'Thel Bala's’ daughter nabbed with heroin in Grandpass
The daughter of notorious drug trafficker and underworld gangster Muniyandi Vappu Balan popularly known as “Thel Bala", has been arrested with heroin in Grandpass area.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested 41-year- old suspect identified as Karupaiya Nirmala on possession of 50g of heroin.
"Thel Bala" who was a well known underworld gangster and mobster during the late 90s and early 2000s fled the country after being charged with smuggling 35kg of heroin Sri Lanka in 2001 and died in India in 2017.
The spokesman said the suspect woman was handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau.(DSB)
