The Supreme Court has given 3 months time to officially announce the dates for receiving nominations with effect from the date the recently passed act is gazetted. So, the commission must listen to all the parties and their concerns, fairly, without affecting that supreme court sentence. That's all. The government is making threats to the election commission, as their disability is getting exposed day by day, rather than talks and threats.

Whatta waste of money on LG and local councils. It's like having 1 politician for every 7,000 Lankans. Absurdity at it's best. This kind of government wasteage is the main reason that this country won't prosper for another 50 years.

I thought this government Will scrap the provincial councils and LG's. But they want to do the same what their predecessors did, having power at different levels. Before 1978 we never had this nonsense. These politicians are cut from the same clothe. One thing for sure in 5 years SL gonna have a New government. I don't see Major difference this government and previous governments. Other than This government consists of huge number of "Gam Battan" they lack self-esteem, yeah.
