Ten young prison inmates sit for O/L exam

Ten young inmates from different prisons sat for Ordinary Level exam, which began today, the Prisons Department said. Accordingly, two inmates from Pallekele Prison and another two from the Magazine prison sat for the exam at an examination centre set up at the Magazine Prison, while six inmates from the Watareka Open Prison Camp wrote the exam at an examination centre at Suneetha Vidyalaya in Watareka.

This is both encouraging and progressive. If prisoners can turn their lives around, and re-enter society with more positive prospects, we should support them. WELL DONE to all concerned!

Don’t we all deserve a second chance?? If dirty politicians can roam freely why cant inmates get another chance?
