Teachers’, principals’ protest teargassed
Police fired tear gas and used water cannons at the teachers' and principals' union members who staged a protest near Palam Thuna Junction in Pelawatta, police said.
They said the tear gas was fired to disperse protesters and clear the road for traffic.
Due to the protest, the Borella-Kottawa road was closed to traffic, the police said.
