Colombo, March 18 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Police have released a video featuring a senior officer explaining the requirements for joining the police force.

A senior police officer said that having tattoos is not an automatic disqualification for joining the Sri Lanka Police.

However, he clarified that individuals with tattoos will not be recruited, even if they hold a degree or postgraduate qualification. He explained that the skin is the body's largest organ, and damaging it is not advisable.

Wow this is quite a rule which is I believe the start to alot of evil to come from the incuben government... They have now begun to show their colours... This is quite a dark statement

Fifty or more years ago only the thugs, IRCs, etc had tatoos. Nowadays we see tatoos in many young and old men, women and many involved in sports. My personal view is the prohibition of tatoos in the Police

You're losing loads of talent because of this rule. Don't let all that talent go to waste, please. If they qualify in patriotism, integrity and fairness in unity, then they're perfect for the job. Mastered all three languages fluently? additional bonus points. Willing to help the helpless citizens? Nobody is more suited Let them atleast erase the tattoos and reapply.

Excellent, the NPP government is doing great. The police should be setting exemplary behavior rather than getting false masculine feeling by having tattoos all over the body.
