Colombo, January. 3 (Daily Mirror) - The Talpe Railway Station, refurbished under the “Dream Destination” project of the Clean Sri Lanka programme, was officially handed over to the public yesterday (02) under the patronage of Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development, Bimal Rathnayake.
This marks the first railway station to be modernised under the project.
The “Dream Destination” initiative aims to renovate 100 railway stations across the country through a public–private partnership led by the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development in collaboration with the Clean Sri Lanka programme, with support from the private sector.
The project seeks to establish a clean, attractive, and passenger-friendly railway station system nationwide, ensuring safety, accessibility, and comfort for all commuters, including persons with special needs.
