TRCSL dismisses claims of ‘Starlink’ suspension

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has denied reports suggesting that the planned rollout of the ‘Starlink’ satellite broadband service in the country has been suspended.

TRCSL Director General Bandula Herath clarified that the delay in implementation is due to the absence of a required dashboard system necessary for regulatory oversight. Efforts are underway to introduce this system, he assured.

Despite the setback, Herath confirmed that ‘Starlink’ is expected to commence operations in Sri Lanka by April, once the necessary infrastructure is in place.
