New Zealand began their T20 World Cup campaign in emphatic fashion, thrashing defending champions Australia by 89 runs in Sydney.

Earlier, Devon Conway (92*) and Finn Allen (42) helped New Zealand to put on 200/3 after being put into bat first by Australia.

The Kiwis then put up a disciplined bowling performance and were outstanding in the field as they bowled out the hosts, who struggled to get a partnership going, for 111 in 17.1 overs.

New Zealand: 200 for 3 in 20 overs (Devon Conway 92*, Finn Allen 42, James Neesham 26 not out; Josh Hazlewood 2/41)

Australia: 111 all out in 17.1 overs (Glenn Maxwell 28; Tim Southee 3/6, Mitchell Santner 3/31, Trent Boult 2/24)

I've never seen so much tension and pressure SL faced against the Dutch in a international game of cricket !! In an never before scene I witnessed the coach Silverwood at the middle talking to the batsmen during the water break, huh I've seen that before!! Yeah!!

However the t20 world cup may end with some miracles. Even England yesterday struggled to chase small target against Afghanistan. Unfortunately Srilanka plays without the fast bowlers like Chameera and Madusanka. As we believe Pakistan has an ablity to win the world cup because they have quality quick fast bowlers as well as quality batsmen like Barber and Rizwan

NZ has a very strong cricket team and since 2015 world cup has made it to the finals of every world cup tournament all four times and also won the world Test Championship in 2021. They outplayed the 2021 world T20 champions Australia in the opening game and is one of the favouites to win the 2022 T20 World Cup depending on todays game where India meet Pakistan at the MCG where a record 90,000 tickets already sold out the biggest crowd ever at the MCG.

My money’s on these Kiwi boys to win the tournament. Devon Conway is a treat to watch. What a stylish and most importantly, a technically correct left hand bat. No “Pol Adi Pudi” just correct stylish left handed batsmanship. Pakistan are not too close behind; what Matthew Hayden has given them is sublime. No frills, no fuss, no show, pomp or pageantry. Just the good old stuff.
