Colombo, September 17 (Daily Mirror)- The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) has revoked the suspension of transporting minerals during school hours.
The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) said the new condition imposed on transport of minerals during school hours was amended after considering the requests of those in the construction industry.
The transport of minerals during school hours has been permitted near schools and in places where children cross roads under a speed limit and strict police supervision.
The transport if minerals was suspended during school hours between 6.30 a.m. and 7.45 a.m. and from 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. following a fatal collision between a school van and a lorry in Dummalasooriya, Kuliyapitiya recently.
