What will the investors get? Only reading this news and licking their fingers? Where is the justice? In 2006 rupees 1.6 billion is a huge money, I feel sorry for the investors.

Education of a country should prepare its generations to navigate life through these individuals and their schemes. Teach your kids about these things and teach them hard work and Incremental progress is the best way for a happy and a balanced life.

The problem is that too many people in sri lanka live a life of borrowed money from the banks and pretend they have made it but as soon as the money cant be payed back it is the other persons fault... this is the illusion the majority shows the world but really they are all a part of this same scam... sakvithi is a product of your manifestation... live with it...

Do you know who should have been fined ? Central Bank of Sri Lanka is primarily responsible for monitoring and regulating financial companies, including Licensed Finance Companies . In this case CBSL have not done there job properly . Like the other institutions responsible managers must have been taking kick back and collecting dust during ther period .

It is alleged that Sakvithi has repaid 60% of every investments to the investors as agreed in Court. He retains 40% and that is about half a Billion Rupees that one cannot earn during the whole life unless one resorts to fraud. He may have been in remand for many years and remand custody is different from serving a jail term. From where did he get the money to pay in instalments over the past 2-3 years. In my mind all the money accepted must be in overseas accounts and he got that money slowly to pay. When fraudsters receive suspended sentences considering the time spent in remand many more will resort to frauds. By the way what happened to the Kotalawala's Golden fraud. No cases and all escaped after a spell in remand. Something is wrong in our Judicial system
