Suspected gunman shot dead by STF in Kahathuduwa

Colombo, July 25 (Daily Mirror) - The gunman involved in the failed shooting attempt near the Dehiwala railway station was shot dead by the Police Special Task Force (STF) early this morning in Pahalagama, Kahathuduwa.

Police said STF officers were conducting a search operation in the Kahathuduwa area when they discovered the suspect hiding in an abandoned house.

The suspect reportedly opened fire on the officers, prompting the STF to return fire.

The suspect was critically injured in the exchange and later succumbed to his injuries.

One STF officer sustained injuries during the shootout and was admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital.

Thank you STF and you have done your official duty and what any official do when they come under fire? Your reaction is timely done : sometime someone has to decision at cruel movement like this : STF did in self defense and so I think we should have laws to protect our police and STF officials: because they do this to protect public and they don’t have any personal gains. They want to keep law and order nothing else : this beautiful country must protect law and order : you can’t allow chaotic situations arise
