Suspect arrested for producing child sexual abuse material

Colombo, April 25 (Daily Mirror) - The Police Children & Women’s Bureau has arrested a 34-year-old suspect for obtaining child pornography via social media and producing explicit material involving a Sri Lankan boy.  

The investigation was launched after the U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) alerted authorities about the suspect’s activities. 

The suspect, a mobile phone repair shop owner from Anamaduwa, was found to have collected and viewed explicit content featuring foreign minors since 2022.  

Police investigations revealed that the suspect had produced nude videos and photos of a 13-year-old Sri Lankan child.
