Strangled male body found with blows to head in Homagama

Colombo, July 10 (Daily Mirror) - Homagama Police found a strangled body of a male with blows to the head, dumped in a shrub jungle off Katuwana Road this morning.

Police, acting on a tip-off arrived at the scene and recovered the corpse of a man. The preliminary investigations have revealed that the victim had been assaulted on the head with a blunt weapon and strangled as well.

The deceased has been identified as a 31-year-old resident of Jinthupitiya in Kotahena, the Police Media said.

The remains are lying at the Homagama Hospital morgue while further inquiries are proceeding.

The NPP government must pull its socks up and use all measures necessary to arrest this daily maddening and worsening situation in the country. For the government spokesperson minister to show up before the cameras and just explain away the situation, which the people know only too well, is simply a red herring and not fit for purpose. What good and efficient is a government on many things when people are hacked and butchered on a daily basis and thrown on the wayside? No, development is not on in an anarchial state.
