The Colombo Lotus Tower has once again reiterated to its visitors to stop confessing their love on the Lotus Tower walls as couples continue to draw hearts and scribble their names to confess their commitment to one another.
Officials from the Lotus Tower Management told Daily Mirror that the walls continue to be scribbled by the young visitors but when they are caught and warned by the security present, the visitors burst out in tears.
However, the love saga continues and officials have begun educating the visitors before they enter the observation deck at the top that confessing their love even at a height is only destroying the property.
Meanwhile, the Lotus Tower Management has launched an inquiry as to how a video of a couple being detained over scribbling on the Lotus Tower walls was released to the media without the consent of the higher management.
The top management of the Tower said they were unaware of the couple being detained as they do not want any visitors being arrested but will continue to warn those who continue to show their romantic skills.
The Maradana Police said that no couple had been arrested over such a matter as reported in the media.
"We received a call from the Lotus Tower officials that a couple will be handed over for scribbling on the walls but no such arrests had taken place," the police said. (DSB)

Use it as a marketing tool.Find out why they profess their love and use it for your marketing campaign.Allocate a portion of the wall for the lovers. Set up a camera shop sell flowers souvenirs@ ect..Be forward thinking.

People should be educated on this matter and go to some other places in Sri Lanka you will see a lot of writing and this will damage the buildings and places why do they do it ? Educate them first at schools about the importance of protecting our national places...No point in punishing them ... educate them first ..

No point talking to them. Ensure a painful fine if not jail is imposed

Simpler solution! Since they already express their feelings by way of scribbling on public walls, just capture them on CCTV , show the act the faces of the people and compile a daily or weekly video and upload on digital media. Why blur the faces? Scared of some cheap lawyer filing a FR? They have no FR to deface public property! Just expose their pretty faces to the public the same way they expose their feelings by way of defacing public property! When will SL learn? This is why we continue to be on the downfall.

Vandalism is an offensive act in many countries. Impose heavy fine on such acts. Also, a phone number should be printed on the tickets of such places to inform the relevant authorities. Same should be done in public transport as well.
