State oil anointing ceremony to be held in Kandy tomorrow

Colombo, April 15 (Daily Mirror) - The annual State oil anointing ceremony, held in conjunction with the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, is scheduled to take place tomorrow (April 16) at 9:04 a.m. at the Sri Maha Natha Devalaya premises, located within the Sri Dalada Maligawa Square in Kandy.

This year’s ceremony will be conducted under the auspices of the Most Venerable Mahanayake Theros of the Malwatta and Asgiri Ubhaya Vihara Chapters of the Maha Viharavansika Syamopali Maha Nikaya. 

It will also be held under the patronage of Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

Health and Mass Media Deputy Minister Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni, Central Province Governor Professor S.B.S. Abhayakoon, and several other dignitaries are expected to attend the event.

The ceremony is jointly organised by the Ministry of Health and Mass Media and the Department of Ayurveda.
