Colombo, August 21 (Daily Mirror) - The government has announced the launch of a special programme, the 'Seiri Week' aimed at clearing out unnecessary items accumulated in state institutions.
The initiative will take place from September 1 to 14 and seeks to create a clean, safe and health-conscious environment, enabling public officials to carry out their duties more freely and efficiently.
A special circular has been issued by the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government to facilitate the programme. The directive has been sent to Ministry Secretaries, Provincial Chief Secretaries, department heads, district secretaries and heads of state institutions and statutory bodies.
'Seiri Week' will be conducted in line with the national ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ programme and will focus on identifying essential versus non-essential items and disposing of the latter.
