Public service is not a tug of war, President Ranil Wickremesinghe said at the Nuwara Eliya District committee meeting where several government officials failed to reach an agreement on several key issues in the area.

"You are acting like Ukraine and Russia, work together and bring me solutions, instead of debating with me," the President said.

The fact that Ranil at a regional committee meeting in Nuwara Eliya related the behavior of his government officials to the Ukraine/Russia war does not speak for his intelligence! Any kind of comparison to this war and to the actors involved and their behavior is completely wrong here, what should it consist of!? The fact that they should come to an amicable solution in this committee cannot be promoted by pointing to the two warring parties and their behavior! Ranil's statement in this context is inappropriate and more than in need of explanation!
