State Vesak Festival to be held in Nuwara Eliya

Colombo, April 17 (Daily Mirror) - The State Vesak Festival is scheduled to be held in Nuwara Eliya from May 10 to 16, Nuwara Eliya District Secretary Thushari Thennakoon said.
She said the theme of this year’s festival is “To Be Associated with Noble Friends.”
Arrangements are already underway for the event.
The District Secretary added that the main festival programmes, which will highlight the core tenets of Buddhism, will take place at the International Buddhist Centre and the Nuwara Eliya Town Hall. These events will coincide with similar celebrations across other areas of the district.
