The son of State Minister Arundika Fernando has been arrested for assaulting the students at the Ragama Medical Faculty.

The suspect, 23-year-old Avinda Randila Jehan Fernando was arrested by the Ragama Police after surrendering through a lawyer last night.

Altogether seven suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police said the BMW car which was used in the attack was taken into custody by the Ragama Police in the Kalubowila area.

The arrested suspects are to be produced before the Welisara Magistrate's Court for an identification parade. (DSB)
