Sri Lankan woman found dead in Australia

Colombo, March 07 (Daily Mirror) - A Sri Lankan woman was found dead at a rural property in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley in Australia, in an incident police are investigating as a suspected murder-suicide.

Australian media reported that the bodies of 47-year-old Chamindika Jayawardena and her partner, 46-year-old Aaron Hammond, were discovered inside a house on McGraths Track in Hernes Oak, near Morwell, earlier this week.

Emergency services were called to the property at around 12.15 p.m., where the two bodies were found inside the residence.

According to reports, neighbours said they had heard two loud bangs on Saturday night but initially believed the sounds were fireworks or gunshots aimed at foxes.

Victoria Police said investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths. Authorities confirmed that the man and woman were known to each other and said they are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
