Sri Lanka snuffed out a late charge to record a comprehensive 82-run win over Scotland in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier match in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
Scotland had done well to restrict Sri Lanka's batsmen to 245, but were completely unravelled by their bowlers, who needed just 29 overs to bowl the Scots out.
Wanindu Hasaranga, who was on course for a world record fourth consecutive five wicket haul was unfortunate to miss out on the feat, finishing with 2 for 42 in six overs.
Maheesh Theekshana ended with figures of 3 for 41 in 10 overs.
Sri Lanka had Scotland on the ropes early in their innings, and plugged away to have the Scots on 100 for 8 in the 22nd over.
A fighting 55-run partnership from Chris Greaves and Chris Sole would have caused some unease for the Sri Lankan bowlers, but that resistence was ended seven overs later, when Sole was run out.
Two balls later, Alasdair Evans was also found short of his crease, for the Scots to be bowled out for 163.

It is impossible to read both Hasaranga and Theekshana They are such a good bowlers However Srilankan middle order batsmen were not successful even today Therefore they have a big responsibility to score runs so as to continue the winning momentum

SL captain has not performed well in neither in the recent qualifying matches n most of the matches played recently. This should be a concern fo for the selectors. He shud be dropped for the next match n replaced by a young batsman on the bench. The role of the captaincy shud be either given to Dimuth or Kusal. We can try this n see the outcome.

No idea whether to laugh or clap for performances against associate nations. And players who are not seen proper spin. Show all your phone ring and arrow shooting colors in the coming Asia cup and world cup..yes then I will salute you.

A win is a win. Although it needs to be said that it was un-impressive and we got away with it. Once again our skipper showed his captaincy colors, no need to even talk about his bowling and batting. Having the Scots at 100 for 8, he is bowling his strike bowlers with no slip fielders. This guy has some connections I imagine, to be in that position.

It's a fair outcome by the legendary Waqar Younis who achieved his record against tougher opposition. Wanindu is brilliant but in the recent past he has gone wicketless in some matches. I hope that he learns how to celebrate wickets from other bowling greats whose were very muted. Less extravagant the celebration, greater the bowler!!!
