Sri Lanka to spotlight export potential at Expo 2025 Japan

The Export Development Board (EDB), as part of its strategic approach to fostering further economic relationships with Japan on one hand and exploring new markets in Japan on the other, together with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tokyo is to organise a Sri Lanka Business forum and Networking session at the World Expo 2025 at Osaka, Japan, on 26 September 2025.

It will gather top-level business representatives of Sri Lankan export-oriented companies and will provide them with a high-impact meeting, which will consider innovation, trade expansion, and international alliances. It will be timed with the current six-month World Expo 2025 that will feature global innovation based on the theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”

Since Japan is one of the most important markets where Sri Lankan companies can trade in high-quality products and have advanced R&D engage, this is one of the forums through which Sri Lankan firms will be able to take off. The participants will not only benefit by having access to Japanese industry leaders, government officials, and possible joint venture partners, but also that of great insights in the market.

The programme will comprise speeches by Japanese as well as Sri Lankan agencies, pre-scheduled B2B meetings as well as a guided tour of the Expo 2025 theme park. The networking reception is aimed at enhancing bilateral relationships.
